Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide a wide scope of backend support and maintenance for the UHC C&S Medicaid data warehouse
Work with business intelligence and data warehousing applications to manage and model data effectively
Interpret business requirements to facilitate the applications development process
Understand new data sources of Medicaid claims and membership data, mapping data to the existing data model
Build new ETL (extract transform and load) processes and maintain existing ETL tools in an Oracle 10G data + AIX Unix technology environment
Creating complex extracts from Data Warehouse
Design, develop and support computer applications and system tools
Documenting test plans, completing unit testing and measuring system feasibility
Guide, train, instruct and assist others with technical issues
Monitor and troubleshoot regular data load processes to ensure availability and accuracy of data in the Medicaid data warehouse.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years Oracle, UNIX, SQL and PL SQL experience
2+ years experience building data warehouse environment, working with design, loading and ETL processes
2+ years experience in full life cycle applications development
Experience in the healthcare insurance data desired.
Demonstrated communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
• Familiarity with Datastage ETL Tool
• FACETS with Healthcare data
Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance
