Muslim Aid is an international relief and development agency working to alleviate the suffering among the world’s poorest and most needy communities regardless of race, creed or nationality. Set up in 1985 by leading British Muslim organizations, Muslim Aid supports projects in over 74 countries spanning Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe. By responding quickly to emergencies, Muslim Aid provides relief to the victims of natural disasters, war and famine.  Muslim Aid also deploys long-term development projects on education, skills training, provision of clean water and healthcare to tackle the root causes of poverty. We are looking for qualified candidate to fill in Islamabad based position.

Requirements 

Qualification            Masters in Marketing from HEC  recognized Institute.

Experience               Â  Strong practical experience of not less than 2x years with NGOs/INGOs or of related work in the development sector.

Experience of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.

 

Strong understanding of Customer/donor and market dynamics and requirements in Pakistan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge

·         Demonstrated understanding of and experience with policies, protocols, and procedures of international NGOs and donor agencies;

  • Understanding of the voluntary, campaigning and youth sectors.
  • Knowledge of the needs, requirement and objectives of potential donors, including trends within donors fundraising strategies.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods (via written, oral, and visual media).
  • Political and sense of diplomacy
  • Knowledge of the corporate sponsorship sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Major responsibilities and target accomplishments expected of the position including the typical problems encountered in carrying out the responsibilities.)

 

Networking and image building

  1.  Researching and identifying potentially new donors (individual, organizations, partners) and developing long-term relationships as appropriate.
  2. Taking a lead on relationship management with regard to image building with potential donors.
  3. Make our supporters feel valued and appreciated by writing lively informative and interesting content for newsletters/mailings/website, and by providing efficient administration of donations received in cash or in kind.
  4.  Assist the management in establishing appropriate systems and procedures for fund raising team and other linked team members and ensure their compliance keeping in view the strategy of MAP HQ.
  5. Where relationships are managed by other staff, working with them to ensure that procedures are followed and that relationships with trusts are developed to the fullest extent.
  6. Work cross-teams to make the most of opportunities for betterment of fundraising department.
  7. As opportunities arise, help research and secure sponsorship/affiliate deals with donors that match our ethical guidelines.
  8. Ensure prompt thanking and other required donor relations.

9.      Writing applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a wide range of potential and current donors;

10.  Manage and lead the identification of, and approaches to potential donors that have not previously supported the work of Muslim Aid, now building on an annual calendar of key prospects.

11.  Develop and maintain reporting and application system and coordinate information with linked departments and project offices if and when required.

12. Manage current corporate donors, suggesting a number of ways to build on these relationships, maximizing relationship with management and RM team at all level.

 

Maximize outreach to target donor

 

  1. Proactively identify and follow-up opportunities to promote the work of Muslim Aid to selected target donor audiences through a range of channels for communications (this could include various media, events, networks, mailings, E-Newsletters, funding raising dinners, regular meetings, flyers, brochures, fund appeals, and the Alert website)
  2. Working with the Fund Raising Manager, other fund-raising staff and the wider staff team to implement develop and monitor Muslim Aid's fund-raising strategy; taking a lead on setting annual targets and strategy for attracting funds/donations and sponsorship.
  3. Assist with organization of MAP events designed to bring us into contact with potential donors or provide opportunities for keeping new donors involved.
  4. Represent Muslim Aid at various networking events & make presentations where appropriate in consultation with management.
  5. Liaise with external parties supporting MAP through sponsored events or other fundraising initiatives.

18.  Contribute new ideas for fund raising and identify suitable funding initiatives, calls for proposals etc.

  1.  To develop a mechanism for placing of drop boxes and action plan with the help of other RM team in particular and other staff in general.

 

 Developing propositions

  1. Assist and contribute to the proposal development team in development of funding propositions tailored to target communities as per ground realities.

 

Maintaining record and updating database

1.      Ensure accurate and timely recording of all donation received in cash or kind and provide reports when necessary

2.      Liaise with finance on all queries relating to donations/gifts including direct debit mandate requirements

3.      Assist the accounts department in annual audit and submission of record both in soft or hard to respective team members

4.      Managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information;

5.      Making risk analyses and balancing time-cost ratios to focus effort upon the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success.

 

General Fund raising

6.      Objectively review the success and achievements against targets, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development. 

7.      Maintain organized hard and soft files of all fundraising information.

8.      Participate in the day to day work of the organization-such as reporting, attending staff and MC meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach to general administrative and support tasks in RM activities.

Communications

9.      Contribute to production of the annual review and news letter in coordination with media department and distribution to all the stakeholders.

  1. Assist with writing and production of relevant fundraising and marketing materials and update on website as necessary.       
  2. Compile and maintain Muslim Aid case studies, photographs and other information for fundraising communications.

12.  Raising awareness of the charity and its work, at both the local and national level - this may involve giving talks to groups or dealing with the media;

Reporting and Documentation

  1. To prepare consolidated monthly and yearly reports comprising of donation received, activities organized, inputs, meetings, new ideas, targets vs achievements and submitting it to Coordination Executive by 3rd of each month maximum in coordination with line manager.
  2. To submit consolidated report of donation received in cash/kind to Accounts department on quarterly basis.
  3. To facilitate in external as well as internal audits of resource mobilization department as and when required.
  4. Ensure departmental filing systems are secured ,maintained and up to date.

Volunteers

17.  Carry out volunteer engagement in different events and fundraising campaigns,

18.  Manage and supervise the volunteer’s database ensuring that records are up to date and that all detail information and contacts of volunteers has been entered.

19.  Receive volunteer application form and maintain close contact with the volunteers so that they may engage as and when required.

20.  Recruiting organizing and managing volunteers to fulfill various functions within the charity;

  1. To develop mechanism for volunteer’s network and close coordination with them.
